"Orthographie", auch "Orthografie", ist die Lehre von der richtigen Schreibung der Wörter.Dt. "Orthographie", frz. "Orthographie", setzt sich zusammen aus griech. "orthós" = dt. "aufrecht", "gerade", "richtig", "gerecht", "wahr", "recht" und griech. "gráphein" = dt. "schreiben". Damit ergibt sich die Bedeutung dt. "Rechtschreibung".
